I'm going to Disney World. Well that's what any Super Bowl MVP would say. Disney World is ~200 miles north of me, so that's most likely, especially with 2 little ones.

We do a short (3-5 day) driving vacation pretty much every summer. So, I'll be doing it, but not because I have a Tesla.

I'll just have to convince the wife that:
    1. There will be superchargers for us to use everywhere along the route, and
    2. That four of us are going to be comfortable enough in a Model 3 (compared to the minivan we usually take)

The Canadian one looks really interesting I can't imagine too many charging points going up to Inuvik. LOL

I was planning a long road trip to Glacier NP then to Banff and BC and probably back through the US.

My first trip will be to the local GM dealer - recently chatted to one of the mechanics when arranging a loan car whilst the engine in my Cruze was replaced:cry:. He's an EV-sceptic so I've promised I'll take him for a spin when the Model 3 arrives;) - thinking I may need to add one of those Lamborghini emulators so he has appropriate sound effects:rolleyes:!!
My second trip will be to Geelong (1,500+ km return) to see my brother. Living in Australia, even trips between the major capitals require careful planning as Superchargers are few and far between (literally). Fortunately new destination chargers keep cropping up all the time. I don't expect delivery until early 2019 so hopefully there'll also be many new Superchargers by then.

In the first year with the car I plan on going from Ottawa to Florida, with a detour through New Orleans. I hope to arrange the timing to see a Falcon Heavy launch in Cap Canaveral! There are already plenty of superchargers on the route.

That is my dilemma exactly. My wife will insist on using the Honda CRV. It would be fun to take the Tesla instead.

I am planning Mississauga to Florida for a launch. Not sure if Model 3 will be here in time for first Falcon Heavy which is the one I want to shoot for.

I am in serious talks with a good drone photographer friend about doing a road trip from Texas towards the west coast, then up towards Washington, then back east and looping around down through Arkansas. It would probably be a 3-4 week venture, hitting up a lot of great destinations along the way and doing a full photo-blog about it while also promoting Tesla and it's mission. I'd hope to get it going not long after taking delivery. Should be a really fun experience!

On Model 3 reveal day last year my cousin's husband Marty, who also order a M3 that day, & I planned a north/South meet up trip. They start in Massachusetts and we begin in Alabama and we meet in the middle in Washington DC supercharging all the way, of course. Can't wait to pop a bottle of bubbly in our nation's capital to celebrate the end of the long wait for our M3s. Others are welcome to join us in DC. Hopefully even others will plan similar "meet up" trips. Thinking next April or early May.... Will post details here as soon as we all get a better idea of when we'll be getting our cars.

Depending on when I take delivery, I would like to make my first road trip from my current home in Maine to my hometown of Palestine, Texas (2,000 miles). I've promised some old buddies I'd give them a ride in my new Tesla. I've already been playing around with Tesla trip planning apps and can't wait!

Once I go through a few weeks of learning the nuances of the 3, I plan on taking a drive from my home in Louisville to Northern California via a fairly southern route and then return via a northern-ish one. I'll do it alone in order to gauge whether or not I think my wife has the patience to take a trip like that with me in the future. It'll be a whole new way of traveling for me, that's for sure. I can sometimes drive through a whole tank of gas without stopping (400-500 miles). I know that's not good for me, especially since I'm getting older, so the change in travel habits will do me good. I'll get me one of those Ninebot Mini Pro by Segway scooters like the Now You Know guys have and just putter around on that thing while my 3 charges up at each stop.

Off the topic...but, I was charged with accepting delivery, assembling, and testing two Ninebot Mini Pros just before Christmas by my son-in-law, who didn't want his daughters seeing them until the "day". I had a ball! There is definitely a learning curve, but soon the Ninebot becomes second nature. I started out with my wife holding my elbow, and ended with steaming full-speed downhill and looping through corners, and even going backwards with some dignity!

I just got my Model X last week and Sunday I took an extended trip with it to drop my son off at summer camp. From Long Island New York to Carlisle Pennsylvania. About 4 hours there not including charging time and 5 hours back due to Manhattan traffic. We are also planning a drive to Ocean City Maryland and possibly extend it to Myrtle Beach in August.

    A few observations:
Supercharging is minimally disruptive to the road trip schedule. Extended bathroom breaks or stops to grab a bite are usually part of a trip anyway.
AP 2.0 is fun to play with but DEFINITELY not out of beta stage. There were more than a handful of situations where I had to correct AP to remain in the correct lane. This is much more of an issue in the right lane at exit ramps when the car will want to exit sometimes.
There were more people using the super chargers than I had expected. No charging station was empty. Typically 1/2 to 3/4 full. This will be a problem if Model 3 numbers explode and the stations don't proportionally increase in number also.
Some people are idiots. At one supercharger in Allentown, PA, an ICE purposely parked in a stall and got out with his wife/girlfriend and gave an evil death stare to the other Tesla drivers while walking into the nearby Red Robin. THERE WERE PLENTY of regular spots directly across the aisle!

This is going to continue to happen until there are fines & towing involved as punishments for this kind of behavior, sadly.

I am planning to go on an extended trip from my home town in Austria to Milan in Italy and then across with ferry to Croatia and back.
Really hoping Superchargers and Destination Chargers work out for that :)
