So I am currently employed in the US Navy, possibly looking to transition to civilian life here soon. I am interested in working for Tesla can anyone give me some insight on the company and what its really like to work there. I'm hoping for a supervisory/manager role as I have been directing maintenance and production efforts for the better part of 15 years. I have a Bachelor's in Business and am on track to finish my Master's early next year. For those of you who make work at Tesla, are my goals realistic? It's been a hot minute since I have been a job seeker in the civilian world. LOL

Thank you for your service! Best of luck in your future endeavors.

(Also... sorry that this reply is going to prompt an alert for you to come read this post and it isn't what you're looking for - a response from a Tesla employee.)

    Not an employee...yet.

I have to say that I did submit an application just last week. I am very close to retirement from my current profession and will be many years from being able to draw social security so it's just about time to redirect my talents. I can't think of another company that I would want to work for. Cutting edge, highly prized products, making a difference in the world, changing the way people think. Yeah, I want to be a part of that.

Congrats on your pending retirement and good luck with your application. I agree with you assessment of Tesla and it being a desirable place to work. I have spent the past 25 years in Naval Aviation with some sense of satisfaction that my employment has meaning and purpose. I just want to be able to continue that trend with a company that I believe in.

I know engineers that have worked for Tesla, it's not a fun place to work. Usually people burn out after 2 years and leave because they are so demanding.
