My incoming distribution panel is located in the basement and it is diagonally opposite to my garage. I have a finished basement with the joists parallel to the panel so I cannot fish anything without drilling and ripping out the basement. I don't plan on doing so. Since I don't want to rip the drywall to run a dedicated feeder for charging, I decided to share the line with my dryer sitting on a 240VAC 60A breaker which has a 4 AWG wire. I designed a dual contactor with interlocking mechanism to prevent them from being on at the same time and use a smart plug to schedule the power usage which I also can override with my phone and manually and the contactor. I thought I can share this with the Model 3 audience in case someone is facing a problem similar to mine. I'm not sure about the electrical code requirements or permit for a set up like this but I'm in the power industry and it should work with no issues. If anyone has questions, I'll be glad to help. Thanks for the video on installing your wall charger. I finally cleaned my garage and I was able to run a 50 ft 6-3 with ground AWG wire to my garage. after drilling. I'll be using the UMC instead of the wall connector. I have attached the schematic and a picture of the contactor with interlock. I'll post pitures when I make the connection and the NEMA 14R receptacle.
