Interesting. That's probably a fairly easy DIY job too.

No fingerprints or scratches too.
I imagine it will show greasy fingerprints quite bad though... it is still an improvement over the piano black (aka ‘fingerprint magnet’... both of our cars have piano black and it is a PITA)

No offense to the owner, but honestly, I like the shiny black finish a lot more! Looks way more classy. This just dulls a really beautiful aspect of the car. Also, from my experience, the shiny black finish is not a fingerprint magnet like many on here keep claiming. I played around quite a bit with the center console and didn't notice any smudges or fingerprints. To each their own, but I'm definitely going to keep it as is.

My experience with finishes in the home is that dark matte finishes are the hardest to keep looking clean. Dark matte surfaces are the worst for fingerprints.

Worse than high gloss piano black? Sorry don’t buy that at all vs. a matte wrap. And yes I’ve handled both.

Actually I don't know. I have experience with polished vs matte countertops in the kitchen and I would steer people away from dark matte now that I have to live with it. I don't have experience with piano gloss so I probably should have kept my big opinionated mouth shut!

What about keeping it glossy and never getting a scratch on it ! This will do it.https://www.rpmtesla.com/product-page/model-3-center-console-protective-clear-wrap

I used the Xpel Stealth film from RPM Tesla to cover my center console. Mostly I did this because it was a fingerprint magnet, also because on past cars this area got scratched a lot.

Here's what it looks like on my car:

I did not do a very good job (there are still some bubbles and messed up places, but a careful person could do a perfect job, I'm sure. Despite my poor effort, it's a great improvement. Matches the dash and doors better now, so it's more harmonious. Probably the biggest downside is that the film right now is pricey ($55). But I'm happy with it.

Looks pretty good! I am debating ordering some. On one hand the precut is convenient, but on the other hand I have some 3M matte black wrap lying around.

Try it. Worst case you peel it off and start over.

Wrapped my console with the XPEL stealth pre-cut from RPM Tesla. I was dumb and did it in crappy lighting conditions and not enough patience, so there are some small bubbles on the edges, but overall I still really like it. No fingerprints, smooth to the touch, easy to clean.

I'm very happy with mine. The only film that might have made me happier would have been one with a pebbled surface that matches the plastic on the doors (fewer textures, more harmony). That having been said, I'm very happy with the satin finish of the stealth film. It looks quite sweet, I must say.

Don't forget, some bubbles may settle out a bit as things dry. I continued to rub the edges of the film with my fingers for a few days to really nail them down.
