    Following the news of the fatal accident in a Tesla Model S on Autopilot, which happened in May but only came to light last week, Tesla CEO Elon Musk claims that about half of the approximately one million people who died in auto accidents last year would have been saved if the Tesla Autopilot was universally available.

    Even if that was true, I think it's better for Elon to keep quiet about it, leave it at condolence tweets and focus on improving the autopilot system...

      Silence may be golden when it comes to polite society. However, when the Koch brothers are paying journalists to smear Tesla or EVs in general; then staying quiet is most likely to backfire. It will look like Tesla are trying to sweep the accident under the carpet. This is a battle to win the hearts and minds of the shareholders and the general public to embrace EVs. The movement towards the electrification of personal transportation has not yet been won. This will require that the mass production of EVs catch up to and eventually match ICE cars. We are at least 5 years or more away from that goal.
