On a side note, they seemed to have found the money real' fast relative to what the Forbes article just reported... See 'Secret...' thread in Electric Vehicles... :)
    Anyhow, good luck to them.

Well, let's see... if they have the funds they could make it... and why not... we have not really even seen the car... plus they've got some catching up to do relative to Model S...

Their aim is too high, without any experience, nor numbers of cars on the road. I just don't believe it. It's too good to be true. In which cases all too often some people profit, where others loose a lot.
I would never trust them with € 1000...

Off topic: Now that is something which happens seldom in the Citroën DS engines. They are not very quick, but quite sturdy and do hundreds of thousands of km without trouble. Rather efficient too (for the time); 1 liters per 10 km (which is better than a VW beetle; I don't know the MPGs ... those are very confusing for us in Europe).
DSses still do good in todays traffic too. I drive them at 130 km/h without problem for hours on end.

I think we're seeing all these EV companies copy Tesla's formula hoping for an acquisition. If you can raise enough to get 75% thru the factory process and have some interesting technology then maybe someone like Toyota thats a bit behind on EVs might snatch it up.

this sounds similar to what may were saying about Tesla Motors in the early 2000s before the Roadster hit the road (and thru now really)

But back then Tesla wasn't aiming so high with their first product and taking such high risks.

@Brian_North 's suggestion seems probable. But do they have some valuable unique assets? Just having a stronger motor doesn't seem enough to me.

So, it stays improbable that they really aim to sell large numbers of cars. And the question remains. Who stands to gain?

Wicked camoflage! Seems worth a lot. Jokes aside they might keep that under wraps. Seems so common anymore where companies pretend they want to bring product to market but just want a quick acquisition. I don't blame them, an EV company would be extremely daunting.

If possible I want to do that one time, yes. Making a trip across the States with our DS.
Almost just as good would be to pick up our Model 3 in Freemont. Drive across the States to New York and ship it home in a container.
We're getting really off topic here!

It is ironic that Americans, which have been saddled with the Imperial system for so long, are now becoming multimetric.
