    Mercedes to reportedly unveil a relatively affordable all-electric hatchback with long range


    After unveiling Mercedes’ new all-electric ‘EQ’ sub-brand last year, Daimler showed great ambitions to become a leader in all-electric vehicles.

    The first effort is expected to come to market next year in the form of a luxury SUV called ‘EQ C’ unveiled last year, but now we learn that they reportedly plan to follow the vehicle with a relatively affordable all-electric hatchback with long-range to be unveiled at the Frankfurt motor show in September. more…

    Couple of comments on this 'news'.

    - If £35k ($45k) is indeed the base 'affordable' price for this new EQ A hatchback, that confirms previous indications the EQ C SUV is likely to be more around $60k which won't make it accessible to as many people wanting to go EV
    - Since this comes via a U.K. source, it is possible the £35k base includes VAT, which would mean a price before VAT closer to that of Model ≡ hence deserving the 'affordable' description.... Important reminder to our NA friends! ;)
