New effort to unionize Tesla’s workforce launches amid production expansion for Model 3

The United Auto Workers has been trying to unionize Tesla’s growing workforce at the Fremont factory for a while now. Last year, UAW President Dennis Williams said that they were “respecting Tesla’s startup status” up until now, but they are seeking to get involved now that Tesla is increasing its production capacity with the Model 3.

Using similar language, a Tesla employee published a blog post today to get the ball rolling again. In a statement to Electrek, Tesla said that it plans to continue “engaging directly with employees” instead. more…

    Oh boy, here we go.
    Musk has responded.
Elon Musk Responds to Claims of Low Pay, Injuries, and Anti-Union Policies at Tesla Plant
“Our understanding is that this guy was paid by the UAW to join Tesla and agitate for a union. He doesn’t really work for us, he works for the UAW,” Musk wrote. He added in a separate response, “Frankly, I find this attack to be morally outrageous. Tesla is the last car company left in California, because costs are so high. The UAW killed NUMMI and abandoned the workers at our Fremont plant in 2010. They have no leg to stand on.”

Where did you get Musk's response? I wasn't sure if that was in regards to this new article or a previous Union bid.

If anything could truly be a Tesla killer, the UAW is it. (UAW stands for Unable to Work)

Let's all hope that the Tesla employees see through the UAW promises and vote NO.
