Tesla adds lots of Certified Pre-Owned Model S vehicles for less than $40,000 with new warranty

Tesla holds a tight grip on its used vehicle market through its certified pre-owned program. As previously reported, it resulted in the Tesla Model S retaining its value better than gas-powered cars in its segment – losing only 28% after 50,000 miles, according to an Autolist report.

Unfortunately for people looking to get a cheap second-hand Tesla, it wasn’t the easiest thing to find a good bargain… until now.

The automaker is now listing a lot of new Certified Pre-Owned Model S vehicles for less than $40,000. more…

In a few more years, I'm going to seriously consider getting a used Model S with free lifetime supercharging to use for road trips. Did the early AP v2 cars still come with free supercharging for life?

While its tempting the lack of AP keeps me from being too tempted. I hope to get a Model S CPO one day. Its still a dream car of mine.

I d love a p85d or p90d ..they are beautiful....but sadly I still think they are too large a vehicle...

I really prefer the model 3 size family sports sedan even with those awesome prices...

I drove by a local tesla dealer and they are packed tight with vehicles...that I believe are preowned...

Tempting as tesla continues to soft sell the model 3 and offer a,axing value with the model S..

If I needed a are today...no question the model S p85d or p90d would be on my short list..

My test drives of that vehicle were phenomenal. It convinced me to buy or at least put a deposit down on the smaller 184 inch long model 3...

My better half is sometimes distracted by my severely autistic 21 year old son in the back seat...

I prefer a slightly s,Allen than model S vehicle for her...but if there were a model with awd and insane mode.,,I d take a test drive,

The extended warranty is a key factor as well...

My jaw dropped when I saw those prices. Literally. I am actually considering this. I will almost certainly stick with the 3, but damn.

Oh I saw it. Ultimately, I'm not going to buy a Model S, even if I can afford it. While some of these CPOs do cost less than what I will probably spend on my Model 3, I will get better value buying the 3 with its newer tech than these older Ss. It's just jaw dropping because I never thought I would see Model Ss that I could afford.*

*Afford is a relative term. Some would say that I cannot afford a Model 3. But I'm buying it anyway. My point was that these CPOs cost about the same, or even less, than what I intend to spend on the Model 3.

Very tempting due to the rear-facing seats. Probably works better for my family for the same price. Maybe both?
