Tesla crash: father of dead driver blames Tesla’s ‘rocketship-like’ acceleration for his daughter’s death

Last year, we reported on a tragic accident in a Tesla Model S in Indianapolis. The crash led to the death of Kevin McCarthy, the owner of the Model S and a passenger at the time of the accident since it was driven by her employee, Casey Speckman, who also died in the crash.

Even though it happened last November, the accident is coming back into the news as the police revealed that both Speckman and McCarthy were intoxicated at the time of the accident. Despite the revelation, the father of the driver is blaming the death of his daughter on Tesla – going as far as saying that “had she been in another vehicle she would have been alive”. more…

OK,let's forget the FACT that the driver was intoxicated. Instead let's blame it on Tesla.

not only intoxicated, but 3x the legal limit!
regardless of the vehicle they were in, the driver takes the responsibility of being in complete control of the car they are driving. If his argument is the car was too powerful for them to control, maybe he should not have been driving it, drunk or not.

Why does it matter how quickly one gets to an unsafe speed? The only acceleration that matters in an accident is the one with the negative sign.

    Thank you kindly.
