    This article answered a bunch of my questions.

    But it raises one: In the switch to Bluetooth, does this make hacking more within reach of common computing hardware?

    @garsh, when I heard that the model 3 had Bluetooth le connection to the phone app, it made me think about this announcement about the key fobs switching over to Bluetooth le... Probably as a test bed for model 3. Do you think a model S or X key fob could be paired with the model 3? Or maybe this could be an aftermarket option. Not sure if the current fobs have some sort of "intelligence" like the phone app might need.
