As we reported yesterday, a Tesla driver sacrificed his Model S to help save an unconscious man having a stroke on the highway. The unconscious man’s station wagon was out of control on the highway and the Tesla driver slowed his car in front of the wagon until it hit the bumper in order to bring it to a stop.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has now congratulated him for his heroic action and even said that Tesla would pay for the damages. more…

I wonder if VW is stepping in to cover the damage to the Passat? Nah.

in the US, the Tesla owner (or their insurance) would probably be on the hook for damage to the VW for 'causing' a collision

Technically, the Passat struck the Tesla from behind. The Passat driver is responsible for the collision by not stopping, no matter the reason. IMNSHO of course.

I think this one is as it sounds. The guy passed out and the Tesla driver saved him. If Tesla wasn't covering the repair, I'm sure the Passat's insurance would. It should anyway Jesus.
