Members have talked about configuring their hypothetical T3 in various threads. How about if we configure here to get a better idea of what reservationists plan to do. Here is a list of options that have been announced thus far:

    - $35,000 base T3
    - 9,000 long range battery option
    - 5,000 premium interior
    - 5,000 EAP (enhanced auto pilot)
    - 3,000 FSD (full self driving, must include EAP)
    - 1,500 19" Sport wheels
    - 1,000 premium colors (only black is standard)
    - ? AWD (all wheel drive, cost unknown at this time)
    - ? P (performance model, cost unknown at this time)

    Configure away!

Okay, here is my current configuration:

    $35,000 base car
5,000 premium interior (probably white if available by the time I configure)
1,000 premium color (Pearl White, although I would prefer a base white, but not available)

    $41,000 total
(plus about $5,500 for tax, license, and dest. charge) We should qualify for $10K in Federal and State tax credits.

I think we can get by with 220 mile range. Our typical weekend day trip is 160 miles roundtrip. Thanks to @EValuatED and his estimated mileage calculations, we can leave with batteries at 100% charge and be able to return with about 20% charge left in the tank, without stopping at a SuperCharger. We will also add some mileage extending tricks like wheel covers, LRR tires, and hypermiling. We should be just fine.

EAP is an open question right now. I want to see what kind of Cruise Control the basic car comes with. We may try that for a while and if not adequate, then unlock EAP later for the fee. Or we can decide to add right from the beginning and take our budget to $46K.

FSD we will add later, even at higher cost, when it becomes operable.

AWD and P, not interested at any time. 5.6 seconds will be the fastest car I have ever owned and that is fast enough for me!

The configuration above does not fit within the parameters of the earliest cars. We will put our reservation on hold rather than take a car with the $9K extended battery. That's not a big deal because it should only delay our December delivery by maybe 2 or 3 months and we will still qualify for the $7,500 tax credit. You are welcome my Canadian amigos!

Been bouncing around but for now I'm
    $44k long range
$5k premium interior (all I really want it the all glass roof, the vegan seat will be nice, the audio is a nice bonus but I wouldn't get it if it wasn't included, the rest of the options I really don't care about)
$0k I like the aero wheels
$1k May stick with black or go with one of the blues

    Total $49-$50k

I really hope we hear something about alternative interior color options by December. I don't really want black, would love tan or white or cream. I also kinda hate the wood trim. So probably another $?k

    Very similar.

    Long range @ $44k
Premium + $5k (glass roof, folding mirrors, and "sub zero" stuff but rest is okay - would prefer textile seats but power/memory will be nice and would prefer sunroof but don't know when if ever)
18" wheels (will figure something out or get used to aeros)
Midnight Silver + $1k (deposit covers)
    EAP $5k (because it's a Tesla!)

I will wait on FSD if regs allow.

I wish I could wait for AWD but just can't and probably couldn't justify the cost so I'll see how the all-seasons work then probably spring for a set of all-weather tires.

Compromises aside, think I'll be very happy with my Nov-Jan RWD Model3 for
$54k (deposit accounted for) + tax/title/delivery and separate shipping & handling.

Going for "first production" (long range and premium interior) plus EAP (will unlock Full Self Driving when it becomes available); in HI, so will stay with 18" aero wheels (lots of rough roads, need the higher profile); would prefer a light interior, but does not seem it will be a choice even 2mos from now; and not sure about color yet (not blue and not silver is about all I am sure of).

I'll configure when I know the EU pricing, presumably >1 year away. Also, will take into account what I can order à la carte by then vs.

Based on current possibilities, my wish list would be all on larger battery but EAP (to the extent I get dumb Cruise Control standard) and FSD...

I am not including the HUD in a brief moment of sanity... :D

Hmmm... let me copy and paste my signature ;)

    Model 3 base - $35,000
    Long range battery - $9,000
    Premium upgrades - $5,000
    Midnight Silver - $1,000
    19" Sport Wheels - $1,500
    Total configuration - $51,500

My budget (before taxes and fees) topped out at $50,000, but those sport wheels were a must have for me.

    I lose autopilot (for now).

We'll see how much value I place on it later if I ever deem it worth the upgrade.

This configuration is "first production" which for me has a delivery estimate of November 2017 - January 2018. I can't wait!!! It looks like I'm a near lock for he $7,500 federal tax credit which is a nice help!

I'm planning to get First Production with every option - with the possible exception of full self-driving. I may wait on that since it doesn't actually exist yet. Still deciding.

If by some miracle it starts looking like I could get dual-motor while still qualifying for the full federal rebate, I'd jump on that instead. But I can't see how that would happen so far, unless First Production is really unpopular.

I'm with you Garsh! I will be going with First Production and all the options. Mine will have FSD though. I know it's a gamble that we may never see FSD become available but I am going to take the chance and include it in the initial financing. I have convinced myself that I do not need AWD and I certainly don't need Ludicrous (although my ego would be glad to accept it if it was free!).

    Model 3 base - $35,000
    Long range battery - $9,000
    Premium upgrades - $5,000
    EAP - $5,000
    FSD -$3,000
Midnight Silver (front runner, may change) - $1,000
19" Sport Wheels - $1,500 (may still go 18" no covers)
    Total configuration - $59,500

My current delivery window is Feb-Apt 2018 (I hope this moves up as more people want to wait for the Base model).

I was originally planning on making this my mid-life-crisis car. I was going to dish out the cash for a Ludicrous version, telling myself that the federal tax credit would help soften the blow. But I don't really want to wait that long.

Yup...9 months to a year longer to wait. Probably an extra 15-20K added to the price once AWD is in there. All for maybe 2 seconds in the 0-60 time. Nope, I'm good.

Originally thought AWD was a must-have, but having seen the production schedule, I don't see how I can wait that long. I WANT A MODEL 3 TODAY . . . OR SOONER!!! Anyway, I will still wait for the white interior. Seems like it will be available by the time my number comes up.

@John Slaby I note you are configuring a white on white car too. I thought my config would elicit some response about that but it didn't. Anyone else bold enough to join the W/W group?

I was originally sold on the blue paint and the bright white interior. Now I am intrigued by this new cream interior they are offering on the Model S and X. Really looking forward to seeing some actual cars with this interior to see what it's going to be like.

I would ideally like the cream interior, but wasn't counting on it being available for the Model 3 any time soon. My original plan was white with the tan leather interior, but I'm a supporter of the vegan move and am willing to shift choices a bit without complaint.

My understanding is that all interiors on the Model 3, regardless of color, will be "vegan" material.
