I mean, sure things can change, but i think we count on these changes for better. Until there is more facts about price of the car and options it is a mute point.

It is somewhat of a misnomer for ex-US purchasers of the Model 3.

Foreign exchange rates vs. USD are in flux and what $35,000 is worth now could be quite different than what it will be when Model 3 starts being delivered.

As a result, the base cost of a Model 3 could stay at $35,000 but is approximately €31.179 (without VAT) or £24.715 (without VAT) or $45,061 (CAD) or $47,397 (AUD)... (prices as of 2:00PM PDT/2100UTC on 2016-06-16) Tesla's transparent pricing provides the price of the vehicle to be the same, while letting local taxes and incentives raise or lower the prices. (It's also an adjustment for ex-US folks to adjust to how we price items without tax, whereas many places have it inclusive).

Who is to say what the price of the Model 3 would be in a few years.

In Ontario Canada, the price after rebate should be around $31000.00 (CAD). Also, the Ontario government will be eliminating the Provincial sales tax (8%) and is in talks with the Federal Government to eliminate the Federal portion (5%), this translates into a purchase price of between $31000. 00 and $33000.00 (rounded to the nearest thousand, because who really worries about a few hundred bucks these days:) In addition the Provincial government is proposing free electricity at night for charging your EV. So, even if the price fluctuates between now and when the car is sold, the cost of purchasing is still a bargain when you consider the low cost of ownership in the long run.

Yep, Model 3 will do particularly well in Ontario. We will be seeing a *lot* of them on the roads once people experience the car and get wind of the rebates and perks. Don't forget the permanent access to the HOV lanes...

I never have planned on paying the base price. If I can get what I want for no more than $55,000 out the door then I will be happy.
What would I expect with that price? Base wheels and tires, base sound system, base interior, extended range approaching 300 miles,
maybe air suspension and some autopilot. The last two are not deal breakers. If not, then I may put the $55,000 down on a Model S.
I also am not counting on any tax breaks, Federal or CA. If they are available, great!!

I don't think they could raise the base price at this point. At least not for present reservationists. I'm hoping for my 45K to get dual motors, extended range (or at least the option to unlock bigger battery later), panoramic roof, upgraded interior, upgraded wheels and autopilot. Eternal Optimist!
