Actually, I think there are several of us from NoVA, as well as VA, MD, DC, and the greater Mid-Atlantic region. Also, I've seen Tesla pursuing a sales/service center in Richmond next (being resisted of course).

We need to coordinate a meetup then. Probably stood in line with you the breezy/cold morning!

Yes, we should organize a meetup for DC/MD/VA/Mid-Atlantic members sometime.

Re: line, I was not able to make it to the Tysons store / service center until after 2p due to work, where they told me the line that had been there all morning had recently broken up as I relayed in my intro post here.

I’ll think about scheduling something in Tyson’s Corner...

Happy holidays to all of you, neighbors! Hoping we start getting some configuration invites in our area, after the turn of the year!

We just got our configuration invite yesterday. Funny that we happen to be vacationing in the Bay Area when we received it. Had the order confirmed about 15 minutes later. Delivery time estimated at 4 weeks. We're in Bethesda so delivery will be from Rockville.

May I ask if you're a current owner? Day 1 reservationist? Tesla's delivery estimate from last month had me May-July, but the recent year-end delivery news has me a little down.

Yes on both counts. Details of other reservations and invites are in this spreadsheet (from teslamotorsclub.com). Interesting to see where and when the configuration invites go and it may help fill in the otherwise lack of data from Tesla.

And just got a call yesterday from a delivery specialist to schedule our delivery. Next Thursday the 25th. That would actually beat our original 4-week delivery estimate by a week.

Would people be interested in a PPF/ceramic group buy in the NoVa/MD/DC area? I'd like to go for a whole car treatment, depending on the cost, of course!

I might be if the price is right. I’m on a spend freeze now that I have my car.

I had mine done recently. A guy I happened to be in line with at Tyson’s was at the shop getting an estimate when I got there. We both went ahead with PPF on the front and Ceramic Pro Gold package. William at Tier1 Auto Detailing has done 5 or more 3s so far. He does great work and offers highly personalized service, so it wouldn’t surprise me if he discounted a group buy.

This is super helpful, thank you! Plus he’s very close to my place :)

If you don’t mind my asking, how much did that package cost you? The ceramic was for the whole car? Anything on the windows?

No problem. Yes, ceramic on the whole car and glass. Rates are as follows:

    Full front PPF $2200
4 layer gold ceramic pro $1090 including exterior glass and wheel faces
    Paint correction varies $500-$2500
    Interior coating $600

I didn’t do the interior coating. I recommend bringing your car right from pickup to minimize paint correction needs.

I let William know this thread was going and he said he’d be happy to work out a package for any that are interested.

You can reach him at the contact below or message him on Yelp. You’ll see that his reviews are flawless. Well, except for the one I dinged him on when he was without help and buried in coating jobs and I was impatient. I’ve since updated my review, used him for my Model 3, am having him detail my SUV next week and will be taking my second Model 3 to get the same treatment as my first when it is delivered.

I’m in for the meetup! :D

I did a Xpel Ultimate PPF on the front bumper only for $625 at Xtreme Auto Details. They quoted $1900 for PPF the entire front and estimated around $3500 for PPF the entire car. They also quote $900 for the ceramic coating for the entire car.
