    Hi All,

Yesterday some of our fellow Telsa enthusiasts were greeted with a new configurator for the Model S. It looks like they are testing the pre-made packages for the Model S. It also appears the site is being served in an A/B testing fashion so it's not available to everyone.

Based on some news we've heard previously, specifically from @TrevP , it appears that Tesla is gearing up to launch their pre-packaged options for the S and getting ready for the 3.

Here are some screenshots of what they look like:

If I go to the URL shown in the picture, it starts to display the new studio, but then forwards to the current one.
If you hit the browser's 'stop' button at just the right time, you can take a look.

Just for the hell of it, I tried going to https://www.tesla.com/build/model3

It's an actual page. Not quite what I was hoping for though. And if you don't hit stop, it ends up forwarding to the homepage.

never thought I'd say this, but my ISP is too fast at hope. Even copy/pasting the address and having my mouse over the x before hitting enter I can't cancel out the redirect before it starts. Im sure my office computer will have no problems ;) So what does it list as features of each package? (guess 'Premium' was only missing from orig post)

Also if you look at the bottom you can still do a custom config but it will increase your delivery date.

Many will say the same about our car (700-1000/month).

    It's all relative.

Exactly. If you're clearing like $8-10k per month, $2200 is probably easy peasy.

Probably the same people who would rent a house for $25,000 to $50,000 per month... Because it still costs less than getting a suite at a hotel that is $2,500 to $5,000 per day. You know, actual rich people. If you make the equivalent of $50,000 to $150,000 per hour, every day, all day, around the clock, for a few years on end... Certain expenses, maybe even losing $40,000 in gambling debts on a golf course per year... Are proportionately no worse than someone making $50,000 per year who gets a $5 quick pick in the State Lotto each week. So, yeah... Priorities and relativity and stuff.

Ah, yes. On some version of the game board, you notice that it says "Pass Go, Collect $200,000,000." This is what technology hath wrought.

In the Stone Age, such extremes of human economic diversity were non-existent. Nowadays, once you get oodles more tokens from the magic of "owning stuff", both the playing of the game and how things appear varies considerably. Five people now own as much as the billions who are half of the human planetary population in aggregate.

You really can't eat it all, not even in caviar, so you have to spend it on stuff other than cheeseburgers. Steve Jobs just decides he won't put licence plates on his car anymore, and no one questions it. What's wrong with this picture? No wonder the extraterrestrials don't stop here for lunch.

Let's hope that the survey does not garner ad-oriented comments like, "It tastes like chicken."

I don't care how much money your making 2200 a month for a car is a lot of coin.

Mercedes s550 or BMW 7 series can be leased for 999 a month. No money down

The Maserati ghilbi is like 750 a month....no money down..

Tesla sedan at 2200 a month seems like it's twice the monthly ..

Believe me the wealthy care what they lay out.

Quite often more so than those pretending to be rich.

    ..

You're comparing financing the Tesla to leasing those other cars. Generally financing will always cost more, but hey when you're done with the payments you have an asset...
