I have unconfirmed second-hand information that the seat colour choices for Model 3 are black, tan and white.

No information on materials (leather or cloth) at this point. I'm going to assume no leather but I suspect they might be same multi pattern material they use on the Model S in either black or tan and the white option could be the vegan white they use on the Model S at extra cost of course

When I have more info I'll share it

Trevor, just not enough information for me to cast my vote yet. I really want to know what the seating material will be. I would really like the Vegan White but I have heard too many complaints from the MS crowd that it is high maintenance and it doesn't hold up well. My TM3 will be a daily driver and primary source of transportation.

It would be nice to have a color between black and white, but I don't think that tan goes with ANY of the heretofore seen exterior colors. Perhaps grey?

    Thank you kindly.

Really want white. Don't want much maintenance.. good thing is there will be people with 6-9 months of wear on their seats so should have a good consensus by then.

Black for me and ps ... a car in the $40+ k range without leather as an option is a huge miss. I can't imagine cloth being the only choice.

Tan goes with black and red exteriors quite nicely.

It also goes nicely with white exterior and dark blue.

To me beige is luxury interior color and black is a sportier interior color.

The white is very cool, but I don't know how practical it is.

Total minority opinion here...as in I may be the only person on the planet that feels this way, so don't yell at me! ;)

I am a car enthusiast. Some of the best, most relaxing times for me was when I was restoring classic cars. For me, working on my car is a sort of Zen experience. I enjoy keeping it clean, maintaining its showroom appearance. While not the primary reason for buying this car the massive ego in me wants this car to turn heads. One of the things unique to Tesla is the bright white interior. It gets people's attention. To me, the deep blue paint with the bright white interior is just amazing. I am going to enjoy cleaning, polishing, and preening over my deep blue beauty. By the time I get this car I will be VERY close to retirement. My boys will be grown and on their own. No crumbs and spilled sippy cups in the back seat, etc. (Like I said, I am in the VAST minority here!)

Just me, the wife and my glass roofed, bubble headed blue beauty. What else will I need but to wave at passers by as my fully autonomous baby takes us to destination after destination. I'm gonna love those conversations at Superchargers and rest stops with people clamoring to know more about this totally unique driving experience. "Yup, it's all electric. No, I don't miss gas. Yup, it drives itself. Yup the bright white interior is amazing. Yup it will blow the doors off of 90% of the cars on the road."

Can't wait for those conversations...and the weekly wash and interior cleaning that will be my happy place!

    First, I love this post!

I of course have those sippy cup/crumb monsters (4 year old and 2 year old), but they are already well trained that eating and drinking only takes place in mommy's car.

My oldest sometimes kicks the back of my seat, but she already knows she can't do it in the Tesla ;)

She's so excited about the new car and she can spot Tesla's on the road like it's nothing!

Ok I may have had a complete change of heart here.

    Blue exterior with white interior.

Check out this video on the white interior and stain resistance!

UPDATE: I found a second video from this couple after 20,000 miles...

My actual preference would be Grey. Otherwise, probably Black.

If you ever come to Ottawa, you can charge at my place and detail by Model 3 while we're waiting for the full charge. I make good coffee.

Agree, my #1 preference would be Grey. However, if these are the actual 3 colors offered, I'll go with white with my silver exterior.

Who would ever want to yell at you Double D?

You and I are kind of anachronisms in the model 3 crowd being in the older demographic, retired, empty nesters, and in pursuit of Zen. I too would love the white interior; it takes me back to my youth and memories of the customs in Blackie Gegian's Car Shows in Central California (I lived American Graffiti).

I pumped gas for 25 cents a gallon after high school let out and earned $1 per hour to support my car obsession. My first car was a 1930 Chevrolet four door. I bought that one for $65. I lost my shirt when I sold it for $60. My first custom was a '55 Ford Victoria, White over Desert Rose, competition rake, reversed rims, baby moons, and lakes pipes. I was a regular dragging Fulton St. in Fresno. But I digress.

I too want a white interior. Kids are now adults, so no worries there, but I do have a small indoor dog (non-shedding) that goes with me everywhere. I don't mind cleaning the white but I have seen a lot of examples where the Vegan White interior on the MS has stitching that has pulled out, puckering, and dye transfer from clothing. I currently have a dark grey Vegan interior on my Prius and it has performed great. So I am on the fence with regards to the white Vegan interior on the 3. Even though I am a first day reservationist, I figure I have about 6 months to make up my mind.

with the vegan, I would be more worried about dog claws puncturing the material - there are lengthy posts on TMC on the Vegan White and holes after pretty light use. Some on the perf, but the solid non-perforated have torn on some as well.

The big issue is two dogs whose nails can cut through wood. Whatever colour seats I get, the back seats will need to be covered in a bullet-proof material. I wonder if Tesla can offer a Lexan seat.

Yeah, that was the point of my post. I have had the Prius Vegan seats for three years now, with the dog, and have had ZERO problems. What is it with the Tesla Vegan material that is not a problem with other makers? Inferior cheap material? Lack of experience in selecting materials? I don't get it. This isn't rocket science! ;)

There have been some reports of blue jeans and oil from the seat belts causing issues, but have been cleaned with alcohol or cleaning eraser if I remember correctly.
