    Hi everyone,

I have reserved a Model 3 but am starting to contemplate getting a Model S instead of waiting.

Recently there was an episode of M3OC where various paint options were discussed.
In the episode there was 1 type of paint that was highly criticised as being difficult to maintain and expensive to fix up. Can someone point me to that episode or repeat here which one that was.
I'd prefer a low maintenance finish if I do end up buying.

    Thanks

Any matte finish paint is tricky to maintain. The black alpha car at the reveal event last year sported a matter finish and proved to be popular with a lot of people but those finishes are delicate.

Watch this video on the issues:

If you want matte, I would start with a finish that comes matte by default, like plasti-dip.

    Thank you kindly.

Okay thanks for the reminder. I don't want a hight maintenance paint. What colour option do you think is currently the most resilient scratches and dirt.

by resistant if you mean "visible from 20' away", a light to mid colored metallic is best at hiding dirt and minor scratches.
