    Tesla has released the pricing for the Model 3 (at least the majority of it) in press release on their Presskit page on their website. Still outstanding is the pricing for the Dual motor option that is expected next year.

    Model 3 is a smaller, simpler and a more affordable electric car. Designed and built as the world’s first mass-market electric vehicle, it is a critical step in Tesla’s mission to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy.
    Like every Tesla vehicle, Model 3 combines range, performance, safety and technology. Intelligent design maximizes interior space to comfortably fit five adults and all of their gear. The high-efficiency powertrain provides zero to 60 mph acceleration in as little as 5.1 seconds.
    Model 3 is designed to achieve the highest safety ratings in every category. Combined with 220* to 310 miles of range and a starting price of $35,000 before incentives, Model 3 is Tesla’s most affordable vehicle yet.
    Model 3 is currently in production, and deliveries to employee reservation holders began on July 28, 2017 at the Tesla Factory in Fremont, CA. Reservations for Model 3 first opened on March 31, 2016 and remain available today.

            Melinda thanks for the pricing post. Based on Model S and X purchase policy, I'm wondering if the full self driving can be purchased at a later date for the $3,000 upgrade price given that there will be numerous hurdles before its actual release and approval by various government entities. I have a hard time justifying the expense if I couldn't use it for 3,4,5 yrs or longer down the road.

              For the S & X, it costs $4000 if bought after vehicle purchase. I would expect the same for the 3.

                Consider $3000 for Full Autopilot to be Tesla's version of Kickstarter. You're paying for part of the development costs and getting a discount.

                  Just for my own curiosity why? I would take the Model 3 over any used Model S at a similar price (my opinion of course). To get a Model S under $50k it's going to have a ton of miles and old hardware on it.

                    Is there a basic cruise control if you do not purchase the "Advance Autopilot" ? I can not see paying $ 5000.00 in adition to the $5000.00 for "premium" upgrade plus $ 1000. for colors for a total of $55,000.00 !!! I may have to consider a Chevy Bolt at that price.

                      The Chevy Bolt only compares to the Model 3 because it's also electric. The Model 3 is targeted at BMW 3 series, Mercedes C Class, and Audi A4 customers.

                      That said, you'd move from Model 3 to Bolt over cruise control?

                        No, but I have test driven a Bolt. It is a great car with some features that the Tesla does not have such as the regenerative breaking padel control, lift back hatch with more usable storage space. I do think the Tesla would be best for longer road trips with the Super charger network. I am now waiting to test drive a Tesla model 3 and waiting to see if I can perchase Tesla before tax credit runs out. My expected Tesla delivery date is Jan to March 2018 (March 31,2016 reservation, east coast NC)

                        You are potentially right on the cusp of the $7,500. What's most interesting is if you will be ordering before you see he car. If you delayed placing your order you could fall back further.

                          I am a little bummed about the non-motor liftage in the back. Hell my KIA has it and it is not a premium car. I think even the latest Renault Zoe has it and it is a plasticy cheaply made car.

                            AFAIK Cruise Control is part of the basic configuration.

                            Tesla informed us on Friday that reaching 200K cars is now foreseen for end 1Q18 or beginning 2Q18. If Tesla 'does the right thing' as promised, they will move reaching that threshold to beginning 2Q18. Which means that US buyers can apply for the full $ 7500 till the end of 2018 (2 quarters after the quarter in which 200k is reached). Only then in 2019 the tax benefit will be slowly decreased.

                            I believe that this is the reason why all international deliveries are pushed back to 2019. Including Canada and Europe. Disappointing as it is for some of these early reservationists.
                            Only if ramp up is successful and the 200k are already reached end of 1Q2018, maybe some international (probably Canadian) reservationists will be given an opportunity to order sooner (what counts is the US sales).

                            Why do I know this as EU citizen and why do US reservationists keep staying confused / ignorant????

                                But not taking time to look thinks up and start spouting unfounded opinions is no excuse. (Don't intend to offend anyone by this, just stating facts.)

                                Maybe other reason is because 'haters' see this as a good subject to cause confusion about, or even blacken Tesla.

                                  There is no way they don't hit by Q1. Think about it...

                                  They are about 75,000 cars away at the half way point of 2017.

                                  Say they sell 40,000 more Model S/X for he US before end of 2017. That means 35,000 left until 200,000.

                                  The aim to produce over 50,000 Model 3's by end of 2017. Assume many are in transit and undelivered by end of year clearly they are all over 200,000 be end of Q4 2017.

                                  Now to start Q1 2018 they are efficient and making 20,000 Model 3's each month brining the Q1 total to 60,000. By end of Q1 they should have delivered a total of 275,000 US based cars.

                                  Unless I am missing something here or Tesla hits an ugly snag, they're hitting in December or January.

                                  EDIT: to me "doing the right thing" is prioritizing US deliveries over other countries to maximize the number of people that get at least a piece of the credit.

                                    Hou might be right. I didn't do the numbers. Was going forward on an earlier message 'hitting' around March 31.
                                    Even so, most part of 2018 and almost all current US reservationists will apply for the rebate.

                                    Doing the right thing is maximising number of US customers getting a rebate. Will depend on situation whether that means prioritising deliveries or holding back for a short while.
