I ordered an S yesterday 6/24 YAY!! and have decided on the standard seats. But, I have not been able to see them in person and sit in them at a Tesla store. Each time I visited a store they did not have a car around with the standard seats. My only concern is the seat support and whether it is any different or less cushion than the leather upgrade. I prefer not getting leather seats this time around but have a bad back and an uncomfortable seat is not an option. The obsession facilitator :) said he "may" have one on Tuesday so I'm going back . I have until July 1st to make any changes.

I had just seen a signature line on tmc that listed both a leather and a textile model s. If you would like to reach out to them, I can go back and fine their contact.

@chopr147 First, congratulations on the order! You're going to love the car.

I too have never seen the standard seats in person but perhaps this video on seat wear might help you compare?

Thank you for the video! Great video for someone like me to see. The drivers seat looks almost new after 80k miles. Impressive and a relief

when I was in the local Tesla store, I asked if they have any of their test cars with the textile seats and was told, "No, we really only get the high end finishes on the sample cars" :/

Yes, that's aboout it. There were like 10 S's and 4 X's. All leather. If I was able to see the seats and sit in them at least I could have made up my mind :( I will not regret getting the leather though :)

    For what it's worth...

    I have original leather on our 2013 S 85...

    Works great for me.

Had textIle loaners and next gen loaners a few months back... I found textile more comfortable than next gen...

I wish they had the demo/showroom cars with the textile seats. Seeing the fabric on the sample board did not impress me, but feeling it on a seat may be different. I likely will go with leather, but do like the fabric seats in my cougar that are a mix of a smooth twill on the sides and a wooly tweed sort of fabric for the middle - so would be ok with the textile option if it were of that look/feel, but from what I've seen it looks more shiny/synthetic.

After my test drive experience in the Model X I can say that Tesla needs to bring those seats to the Model S and hopefully the Model 3. They got those right.

Crazy idea put 2 or 3 different seats in the demo car

Demo or Inventory cars are not titled to anyone since Tesla is the manufacturer and not a dealer.

Thus they are able to sell some heavily discounted "new" cars that are eligible for many of the incentives...

Putting multiple different seats in the car will make it harder to sell these demos.

I don't recall seeing a lot of seating in the show room. Perhaps demo seats could fill that niche if they don't have cars with different seat specs.

    @AEDennis,

Seriously? That's pretty impressive for the Textile....I'm seriously thinking about textile in My 3, however the jury's still out. I've only sat in the NextGen (black) at the SC on the floor....VERY comfortable.

    Yup...

Might just be a personal preference... I found the padding in the "wrong" places for Nex Gen... The Textile supported me well.
