    I know Telsa makes their patents available, or open source, but do they make their user interface software available as well? My understanding is that it runs on top of some flavor of Linux. I just thought that it would be fun to be able to customize the screen layout and apps.

    That's an interesting question.

    I doubt they'll let anyone touch the car screen UI as it's so critical to the (safe) operation of the vehicle.

    There are third party apps though, so you may be able to do something fun as an Android or iOS app leveraging their API.
