It was reassuring at the Model 3 reveal to hear that Tesla was going to double the number of stores and further increase service centers. Tesla has had excellent customer reviews in both areas (mostly), and I hope they will be able to retain their quality of service.

But I doubt that deliveries of the 3 will include delivery to the customer's home as they've done with the S and X (as an option). Nor do I expect service to include that option.

There is also the issue of overcoming the existing auto dealer attempts to block Tesla from having its stores in their states.

What ar your insights on these, Trev?

I haven't really though of that t'il I read your comment... But yah come to think of it, they might have to reply structure everything to accommodate delivery of the model 3.
Like I don't think they can rely on storing car in malls parking lot and they had a number low enough to deliver at desired location but with this number going up as the years goes by they may have to come up with a setup like a traditional car dealership... A big building with huge parking lot and show room where they can secure and store their cars... Also build up inventory so that someone can simply walking pay for a car and drive away with a new car...

Part of the Tesla business model is the fact that the car is bespoke for each owner.

Granted the constantly changing loaner fleet is typically inventory cars sold as new or CPO trade ins
