If there’s a list Tesla is probably OK with not being at the top of, it’s ‘Best Car Salesmen’. The company boasts about its distribution and servicing model being unlike any other in the industry and the latest mystery shoppers study by Pied Piper, a real consultant and market research firm (not based on the HBO series Silicon Valley), kind of proved that it is the case by placing Tesla dead last. more…

Can anyone take a company named "Pied Piper" seriously after watching the TV series Silicon Valley? :D

Pretty obvious these guys don't "get" Tesla's showroom methodology. Cripes, the car sells itself. There's no need to "sell" the car against a non-existent competition.

Honda years ago used to be a car that sells itself. Maybe around 1995. So I bought one despite having to haggle for a price. That particular Honda dealership made a ton of money in their service department. Tesla not trying to make money on service is so foreign to me. That was what I always expected from auto makers. I understand the concept but it is somewhat dishonest and an incentive to have some parts only last so long.
I am loving my S buying experience and the only stress is worrying about how I'm going to pay for it. IMHO Tesla has the best salesman/ woman on the planet.

The thing I see most about tesla service that shocks me is that they issue LOANERS. I remember that from my younger days. I have never gotten a loaner. I do look forward to it.

"Would you like to reserve now? ... You can expect delivery the Christmas after next."
      OR SOME DIRECT ANTI-SELLING
"It has more steel than our other models" "The present production model can only do 0 - 60 in 5.1 secs" "I can show you my crib sheet which lists all the reasons we suggest you don't buy this car just now" :p

I suppose the moral is that different car companies have different problems to worry about. ;)
