Tesla now suggests similarly spec’d inventory cars when custom ordering a vehicle online

    Are people ordering vehicles and then changing their minds? Or is Tesla testing the traditional car dealership set up?

    Tesla tries to keep some vehicles on-hand at their stores for test drives. I believe these are available for immediate purchase as well. And they do still count as new cars.

    And they don't want to hang onto them for too long, because they're constantly upgrading things on production cars, so they would prefer to sell these cars that they've already produced.
