Tesla Motors plans to hold a Gigafactory Grand opening event on July 29th at the plant in Reno Nevada.

The company sent personal invitations to Tesla Owners who referred five or more Model S buyers late last year.

The event will be the first time the Gigafactory is open to the public.

Congrats to those who received invitations!

I would love to tour the Gigafactory at some point in time, but NV is a 2.5 day drive from me. I just like seeing factories and how they make stuff. Perhaps Tesla will allow for us to have a car meet there at some point in time.

    that would be great :)
I have a 2000 Mercury Cougar and have been involved (not so much any more) in their owner group for years. That group has an annual meet "Cougarfest" (yeah, anyway if you are done snickering at that...) that is normally around the Great Lakes area. A couple years when the car was still in production, Ford invited the group to the factory. I didn't go those years, but know the ones that did loved it.

It is funnier because you are a female! I missed out on the opportunity to tour a Ford plant a while back, but have really been interested to see the revamped Dearborn plant.

I miss the Mercury brand and here is a tribute

It is always nice to see a car chick at the meets as it is always a male affair. Usually any females in attendance are partners of the male.
