There has been a lot of talk on this forum and others, about Aftermarket accessories specific to the model 3. In my opinion there are more than a couple of Aftermarket vendors who are lurking on this and all the other Tesla fora and looking for ideas for the model 3 and perhaps that might include Tesla Motors itself. Although most purchasers will never consider Aftermarket accessories for their car because they will accept the car the way it is, there will still be a significant number of the 400K+ reservationists, who are fanatics like we are, who will want to modify their car in some way to make it a personal statement or make it more usable.

I have created this pole to give some idea of what is most important to us, the end user. I have tried to list all the various Aftermarket accessories that have been discussed on M3OC. I have listed as many as the poll would allow me to list. I have limited choices to a maximum 5 per response, in an attempt to make the results more meaningful. So pick the accessories that are most important to you.

Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with any automotive accessory vendor or manufacturer. I have no financial interest in any automotive vendor or manufacturer. I am not acting on behalf of any automotive vendor or manufacturer. I am not getting paid by anyone to start this thread. I am doing this because I want a selection of Aftermarket accessories to modify my model 3.

I voted creative hub covers, but was close to not voting for anything. Honestly, I think the car is a stunner as is.

My real vote would be lowering kit as I haven't been a fan of the rear wheel gap, but let's see where it stands (literally) when we get the cars.

The design of the 3 is executed so well, it will take me a lot of convincing to add aftermarket parts. Whatever I do to the car though, it would have to have a genuine OEM look to it. The thing is there will be so many of these on the road, I feel as though I would be forced to personalise it.

I went for 20" rims (I honestly like a rough ride - I'm weird), customised interior dash panels, and I might get the car wrapped in a unique colour. I hope the aftermarked scene for this car will be huge. :)

I'm in the same camp. Quite certain the car will look great without any mods. Maybe I might consider seat covers and evannex red caliper covers when they become available.

My only possible aftermarket desire is for audio. I'll either buy the audio upgrade package, or replace all of the drivers, the amp, and add a subwoofer.

Also, after seeing a Model 3 in person the other day, my opinion is that the talk of "mustache add-ons" will die down when people see the actual car. Just my opinion, but unless you're the type who wants to add racing stripes, etc, a faux nose sticker would be odd.

Agreed. There are going to be much better grill appliques than the silly mustache.

Tinting the windshield and front windows is NOT legal in CA, but everyone seems to do it without being hassled by the Highway Patrol.........as long as you don't go too dark....even if it is an out of State car where it is legal. It's like front license plates here in CA, many cars don't run them, but you do take your chances with an expensive "fix-it" ticket.

Front window tinting is a safety issue for law enforcement (makes it more difficult to see what passengers are doing when they approach a vehicle). They have a tough enough job the way it is. I encourage people to support law enforcement officers and not tint their front windows.

I wonder if there is going to be an aftermarket chrome strip for the trunk lid.

I like having suspension travel. I dislike bottoming out. I probably won't get anything on that list.

About the only thing I would do to my car in aftermarket is getting a clear wrap of protective film. My current car has an extremely light tint to the side windows and rear, so there's an outside chance I might replicate that if I feel there is a need, since after a health issue a few years ago my eyes are much more sensitive to light -- but I might be fine just wearing my prescription shades.

So guys like EVAnnex, Unplugged Performance, and STILLEN aren't likely to get any business from me at all.

I need a different aftermarket accessory. I am afraid that the 15# screen sitting out there will be too tempting for the smash and grab crowd. Need some type of cover, not just a towel, that looks nice and blends in with dash.

Anyone know of vendors planning to make a front license plate mount kit for the tow hook? I live in a front-license-plate state, and don't want to drill my bumper.

Also wondering about front plate... need those here in Europe everywhere. So I guess someone will make something.

The car will come with a front plate holder that's not drilled...

At least that's how Model S is.

Interesting fact, Model S was crash test rated with the front plate frame on the car, so when you take delivery Tesla will not remove the plate frame.

I think we've only seen one release candidate car with a front plate frame on it.

I'm hoping it's not pre-installed as I am not in a front plate state, but for your purposes I would assume it's like Model S and it's held on by a screw (under the car) and strong adhesive on the paint itself.

Given the location of the tow hook I think it's going to happen rather quickly.

The first thing that's going to happen when I take delivery is to get the car Opticoated and a film barrier installed on the hood and fascia.

I'll also be transferring my BlackVue dashcam from the Lincoln over to the 3 which I will video for those wanting to install the same.

Front license plate holder that does not require drilling into the front fascia would be a cool aftermarket modification to have. Unfortunately the police in many states mine included are pretty vigilant to give tickets when the cars are parked at say a mall if they don't have a front plate on the car...

A stylish solution that would not require drilling would be nice. Say down low maybe in the center or to the side? Car manufacturers are required to place the place holder at a required height where as the aftermarket solutions can be lower and a bit more stylish.

Police don't seem to ticket at all for low plates but rather no front plates are the issue.

I'd like to see 19/20 f/r wheels for the tesla model 3. And if necessary 20/20 rims from the aftermarket.

Corvettes run 19/20 inch rims from the aftermarket and although the ones I'm discussing are lightweight and strong they are priced reasonably...@1600 dollars for a set of four.

Corvette generations such as gen 7 are produced at about 33000 units a year and the wheels are priced as I mentioned.

Of course there are ultra expensive 5 or 7 grand sets but that's nonsense for daily drivers in my opinion...

If any aftermarket companies are reading this thread? A set of four 19/20 or 20/20 inch rims priced at 1600 dollars that look good...weight about the same as the stock setup...give or take a few pounds for the 20 versus 19 inch rim....and sell them..

The large rear section of the model 3 for rear seat headroom does visually demand 20 inch rims...

21 inch rims and their respective tires would be too large for the model 3 ...NOT TOO MENTION AFFECT RIDE AS WELL AS COST WAY TOO DAM MUCH..

The 19/20 (front/rear)will be a big seller as long as they look good. I think the front benefits from 19 inch rims while the back visuallybenefits from the twentys....

The lack of rotation does t bother me as I never rotate tires ...except to put snows on the car for the winter on stock rims.. as far as looks...

Which of course is subjective...but I'm sure it will be fun to decide what to offer.
