    Reduce, reuse, recycle. I like all sides of the triad. But when it comes to automotive batteries, no matter the technology, they are largely recycled anyway.

    It's a simple calculation: compare the cost to recycle to the remaining capacity in the cell. No reason to throw away capacity.
    Recycling to extract the lithium, nickel, cobalt. etc. should cost less than mining and refining the materials in the first place.
