$139.95 front license place bracket vs $25 fix-it ticket in CA for no front license plate.
I thought the fix it ticket is $10 in CA, I got one last year, has it gone up?
If thats the case I'm definitely skipping $139.95 bracket! Also, I wonder if this interferes with the battery cooling motorized vents. It seams to bolt onto those vents. Seems inadvisable to me.
Then vents moving:
How on earf is that worth $140?
how is this any better than the (included) stock plate bracket?
$25 for every fixable offense in Cali since around 2013 I think.
I’ve had like 20+ fix it tickets over the last 15 years. lol. Various things like no front plate, driver/passenger tinted windows, tinted tailights, tinted windshield.
Yeah, I’m also not understanding how it mounts to these PLASTIC air veins:
Aww darn... for one glorious second I misunderstood and though the plat was a retractable or flip up/down kind! Evannex please make one for the 3? Pretty please!?
The market will decide - don't worry.
The stock bracket requires "taping" the bracket to the painted from bumper - this does not. Whether or not somebody perceives this as "better" is left to each individual to decide.
It basically clamps onto them, front & back.
You mean like this:
This one comes with a razor-brimmed fedora.
Thank you. Makes sense now.
You are defo wrong because I paid $10 last year exactly for no front license plate.
Maybe its just LA county is $25 fee now.
EXACTLY!!! Thank you for the link! (brb buying one lol- I am seriously considering it).
$5 less at Torklift directly
There's also a member at TMC who fabricated his own solution and is selling them.
I'd really like to pick up one of these, but count me in with the folks that think this is obscenely overpriced. And, the Torklift product (from either store) has been marked up in price over the previous Model S version. Price alone may cause me to pass on this product, which is unfortunate, because I do like the idea and execution.
If anyone purchases one of these and wouldn't mind posting some photos of it post-install, I'd appreciate it.
I'm curious if the install is as easy as it is on the S or X as well as where it sits when mounted. A lot of the photos for this product are photoshopped and I've only seen one actual 3 with this mounted on it.
holy cow, $120-135 for a license plate holder? I get that they have to recoup materials and development cost, but that still seems excessive. I plan to keep this car a long time and wont be moving out of my "front license plate" state so never mind. I will have them stick on the factory one with the 3M tape and call it good. :-( Too bad bc I was super excited about this product.
