TSLA Stock: Analyst Issues Brilliant Takedown of Tesla Motors Inc My analysis: This is yet another financial analyst who is trying to understand Tesla as just another car manufacturer. He points out the ridiculously high P/E ratio and "a market cap bigger than Mazda, Fiat, Ferrari, and Porsche combined". He points out Tesla's inability to meet production estimates in the past. If you're interested in TSLA as a short-term investment, and are counting on Tesla meeting quarterly guidelines, then this analysis is spot-on, and you should avoid owning TSLA. HOWEVER, if you believe Tesla is about to up-end the entire automotive market, then ignore this type of analysis. You don't care if Tesla doesn't meet their quarterly guidelines. You don't care that they've just gone further into debt to finance the Model 3 rollout. You think that Tesla is going to drag the other auto manufacturers kicking & screaming into producing almost-as-good EVs themselves. Then grab some TSLA and hold on for the long-term.
