Confession is good for the soul...

Even though I told the Leaf Concierge I was a first day reservist for the "3", they sent me the paper work anyway to extend my lease for five months. Already signed and mailed back over a week ago.

And Nissan is crediting me for THREE months free... Ok, that just seems really ironic... Three free months as I wait for my "3"...

Of course I wonder how Nissan feels now that the Long Range "3" has completely stolen any thunder they may have had for the new Leaf...

Probably smart business there. They know they've lost you so why not squeeze a little more out. I don't think there is a hot market either for the used Leaf so they probably don't want them all back so soon.

I JUST leased a 2017 Leaf as it was dirt cheap ($80 a month) and they had a bunch of used ones on the lot. 7 at last count. 7 is a lot when they couldn't get a single one in Ontario or Quebec and I had to drive 200km away to a dealer that had one left. Think the bad PR on the initial battery pack is still being carried around. I didn't realize until doing research that Nissan did reformulate things and the newer packs don't degrade near as much.

I'm still on 10 out of 10 battery health and currently 34,000 miles on my 2015.

Hopefully mine remains similar! It's a lease though so I don't have to care too much. It's been in the shop since the second day I got it due to a defective charge port.

Are you talking about the battery bars?
You know there are 12 of those to start, right? ;)

Good catch! Obviously I'm hung over from last night waiting for www.tesla.com to light back up with more than just the live stream site!

A few years ago I wanted to extend my LEAF lease by a year and they flat out said "NO". I was pissed so I immediately went and leased a BMW i3 instead (regretting it though). Given the price and availability of M3 (my lease is up in Oct) I may have to check out LEAF lease again and bide my time for...?

You might want to consider a used Leaf to tide you over.

In the 90001 zip code area (don't know where in California you are), prices vary as low as $6,299 for a 2011.

Of course, you know to check the battery health meter before considering it...

Great idea. I just need 60 miles of range for my commute, but that's about all my 2012 LEAF had after 3 years of driving :-O

Just called my bank yesterday to see if you could extend my Volt lease which is up in the fall. They said I can get six months tops, two months at a time, payments stay the same. Should work out fine since I'm in the US unless I wait for AWD. If I decide to do that, I'll probably buy a used Leaf to tide me over.
